This UNIT focuses on plural and singular nouns using ‘There is a …’ and There is some …’. A large vocabulary set of HOUSEHOLD items and the ROOMS of the HOUSE are taught. We focus on ‘countable items’ with ‘non-countable’ items being introduced at the end of the UNIT as a preview to Red Book 5. The students will learn positive and negative sentences, present and past, ‘There was a…/ There aren’t any…., There were some..’ etc. as well as ‘YES/NO’ questions using the ROOMS in the HOUSE, ‘Is there a..toaster.. in the bathroom?’, ‘Are there any ..pillows.. in the bedroom?’. Finally, we look the questions, ‘How much?’ and ‘How many?’ and how we can count ‘uncountable-things’ by counting the containers that they come in.
