This unit introduces 12 ‘FEELINGS’ vocabulary and incorporates them with PRONOUNS, eg. ‘She is happy, They are cold’ etc.’ The word, ‘HOW’ is introduced along with the question, ‘How are you/is he she?’ etc. Finally we revisit ‘YES/NO’ questions, eg. ‘Is he cold?, Are the sleepy?’ Etc. A copy of the ‘feelings’ is also included in the ADJECTIVE GLOSSARY. Students can receive a stamp on their Progress Page if they can say all of them.

WH- BONUS DICE: If you think the kids can do it, you can introduce the concept of the ‘WH-Bonus’ dice. Before a question is ask the student rolls a dice. If they get 1 to 5, they can just ask a regular ‘Yes/No’ question eg. ‘Is he sleepy?’. However, if they roll a ‘6’ they can just ask directly, ‘How is he/she?’ resulting in an automatic 1 point.
Fun Scoring - (see video above)
A fun way to score, is to get a collection (in this case 7) of the #Yel-116#-‘Like /Don’t like’ cards and assign points to them eg. ‘Cake =10, Candy = 9, Spider = 3, Cockroach = 1’. Write this on the board. Mix these cards up and put them under the ‘Feelings’ cards. This is what each team will win if they solve that part of the grid. It’s fun NOT to show them what they won, until after the game. Eg. Put team A’s winnings in one pile and Team B’s in another. At the end of the game, slowly reveal each of their winnings and tabulate the results. Repeat.
